My Medium Partner Program income dropped, but I’m earning much more now thanks to Medium.

I’m not writing regularly on Medium for two reasons:

First,

I came to Kolkata to join my friend Rahaman to work on our businesses and grow Artiphik.com, our video editing and podcast post-production agency, so that we can travel the world as digital nomads.

Second,

I got a client from Medium who pays me over $200 per month.

Remember the article where I mentioned getting a consulting client from Medium?

Now I’m working on building her personal brand on social media. I’ve also made some changes to her two existing websites and manage Meta ads to promote her services on Facebook and Instagram.

I’m also thinking about sending cold emails to potential customers for her.

Now, we’re discussing a complete website redesign or creating a completely new website.

I’ll manage her YouTube channel too. For that, we need to edit videos, and our video editing agency, Artiphik.com, will handle that.

How You Can Get Clients on Medium

If you’re already looking for clients, I’m sure you already have skills too.

If not, please learn at least one skill, practice, build a portfolio, and get ready to work.

So, if you already have some skills, now you can use Medium to get clients too, just the way we use other social media, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram to get clients.

Optimize Your Profile

Make your profile look professional.

Instead of using a random photo from Google or a picture of a cartoon or flower, use your own photo. Your face should be clearly visible.

Write a short, simple bio.

Mention your skills, email address, social media username, or contact page link so potential customers can reach you easily.

Write High-Quality, Valuable Articles.

Write helpful articles that add value to your readers’ lives.

My top-performing articles are from the Ultimate Guide Series, which are just pure value – no unnecessary noise at all.

If you read The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Digital Nomad, you won’t need to read another article or watch a YouTube video. That single article covers everything you need to know about becoming a digital nomad.

People will remember you, follow you, connect with you, and eventually purchase your services if you add value to their lives.

Promote Your Services

You can mention your skills and services in your bio, at the end of your article, or you can write full articles on Medium to talk about your services.

Just remember,

Too much promotion can irritate people and drive potential customers away.

That’s why you should focus on adding value first – write something helpful and work on building your brand.

Once you start working on your personal brand, people will eventually know about you and your services, and they’ll reach out if they need what you offer – no need to constantly share and shout about it.

I sometimes write highly valuable ultimate guides, but mostly, I just share my experiences.

For example,

The article that you’re reading now is just my experience but after reading this article you’ll get to know that I can design websites, I can run Meta ads, I can manage social media, etc.

It’s better if the promotion is also relevant to the article. Otherwise, you can always add a CTA at the end, you can add a link to your ‘Work With Me’ page or your portfolio with contact details.

Final Thoughts – I Got a $200/Month Client on Medium – Here’s How

It takes time to get results on platforms like Medium if you’re a complete beginner.

Follow these techniques to optimize your profile, articles, and overall personal brand on Medium.

I’ve been writing on Medium since 2018, and I’ve only gotten three clients and one sponsorship deal here as of now.

So, write here if you really love to write, don’t just write for money.

I never thought I’d get clients from Medium.

Even when the Medium Partner Program wasn’t available, I still wrote hundreds of high-quality articles here for free because I love to write.

Keep writing on Medium, work on your personal brand across social media channels, your website, and freelancing platforms.

Stay active everywhere, and be open to new opportunities.
