It’s not easy to run a successful market stall, but if it’s the first place you think of to start with your business adventure, then it’s going to be a challenge. If this is your first venture into the business world, then you know that the setup and the marketing of your market stall is going to be the first thing that your customers take note of. If you’re in a market among many other vendors, you want yours to stand out.

No matter what you do, a market stall is going to attract customers and hopefully get you some sales. Making it a success is all going to depend on certain things, and we’ve put together a list of how you can start running a successful market stall.

  1. Consider the prices. When it comes to pricing your items in your market stall, especially if this is your first ever one, you need to think about how you’re going to draw your customers in. Not only do you need to price every item according to their actual worth, but you do need to think about how you plan for your customers to pay for those items. Choosing to go cash only could lock you out of the market seeing as most of the market is now going cashless. A smart POS system is going to help you to remain cashless and still be able to bring in what you need to bring in. If you’re new to the game, think about the prices that will appeal to your customers that don’t undercut what you spent on the items.
  2. Balance out your display. You don’t get much space on a market stall, which means you have to be very clever about what your products are going to look like. Try to make your stall or your kiosk as welcoming as possible. You can do this by having your display at eye level, below and above eye level so that no matter the height of the customer, they’re going to be able to see what you’ve got to give. If you have a table for your market stall, try to set your product so that it’s balanced in terms of height, display, and combination so that it looks attractive.
  3. Be unique with your signage. You need to get your business brand out there so that once people have left the market, they want to Google who you are and find you on social media. If you are unique, you can make a good impact on your potential customers. Look at other kiosks and other market stalls in your industry to be able to gain some. Inspiration on what you should be doing. The fun thing is that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to implement a few simple ways to get your market stall noticed. As long as you are able to show off your business branding and put your colors on it, you’re going to do well.

Your market stall may be your first foray into sales before you go for a whole store, but it’s a good first step!
