Sukoon, my calm productivity app, is completely free.
No ads.
No subscriptions.
No pop-ups asking for money.
And I want to keep it that way.
Still, people often ask me one question:
“How will you make money from a free app like this?”
The answer is simple.
I built Sukoon for myself. I never created it to make money.
But once I made it public, there were real costs involved. Server costs, maintenance, and things that naturally grow as more people start using it. So if someone chooses to support my work financially, I won’t say no.
That’s why there are only two ways to support Sukoon, and both are completely optional.
No pressure.
No guilt.
No dark patterns.
First, Sukoon Is Not a Funnel
I didn’t build Sukoon to trap users inside a funnel.
I built it as a calm space — something I personally use when I work, think, or try to sleep.
If someone opens Sukoon, I want them to feel relaxed, not sold to.
That’s why there are:
- No ads
- No forced signups
- No “upgrade to premium” banners
- No interruptions
But sustainability still matters.
So here’s how I’m thinking about it.
1. Some Users Might Hire Me
Inside Sukoon, there’s an About section and a Contact section.

Contact section.

About section.
That’s it.
If someone is curious about who built the app, they can tap it.
If they like how the app feels, how it’s designed, how it works — they might explore more.
And there, they’ll find:
- Who I am
- What I do
- The kind of work I offer
If they want to hire me for:
- Website design
- App development
- Content creation
- Marketing
- Consultation
They can reach out.
No forced CTA.
No “book a call” popup.
Just information, quietly available.
2. Optional Support via Buy Me a Coffee
The second way is even simpler.
If someone truly loves Sukoon, they can support it.
That support is optional, always.
There’s a small “Buy Me a Coffee” button in the footer.
Just one.
No banners like Wikipedia.
No popups asking for donations.
No reminders.
Above the button, there’s only one line:
“Help keep Sukoon calm, free, and ad-free.”
That’s it.
People can choose to:
- Make a one-time donation
- Or support monthly, if they genuinely want to support my work long-term
And if they don’t?
Nothing changes.
Sukoon still works exactly the same.
Why I Don’t Want Ads or Subscriptions
Ads break calm.
Subscriptions create pressure.
Sukoon is not meant to be another productivity app that stresses you out.
It’s meant to help you slow down.
So I’m choosing:
- Trust over tactics
- Calm over conversion
- Sustainability over scale
I’d rather have a few people support intentionally than force everyone to pay.
I’m building something I’m proud of.
Something I actually use.
If Sukoon helps you, use it.
If it inspires you, share it.
If you want to support it, you can.
And if not, that’s perfectly fine too.
